Dog Bones!Posted by: Elizabeth Morrison in School Events, tags: Burnell, community service, dog bonesA lovely aroma has been permeating the halls of MGWS on Thursday afternoons. Turkey dinner? No…dog bones! Mr. Burnell and a hard-working group of student bakers have been hard at work in the home ec room baking up these tasty treats for pooches. Bags of bones will be on sale for $2 starting today. The proceeds will be donated to the WWF – World Wildlife Fund!

Opportunities to Help Others…Posted by: Elizabeth Morrison in School Events, tags: community serviceAt MGWS we try to help the community in any way possible. Some of our current efforts involve:
-collecting money and gifts for families in need (want to donate? See Mrs. O’Brien in the office); -collecting food and nonperishables for donation to local food pantries. Our SECOND such effort is underway. (Thanksgiving was a HUGE success!) Items will be distributed to MGWS families at Christmas. -the “Holiday Boutique” – we are looking for new or nearly new items to sell here at school on December 16th and 17th. Students will have a chance to “shop” for items at this boutique. Proceeds go toward our Christmas collection for local families. (We also need parent volunteers to work at the sale.) So many opportunities and so little time before we break for Christmas! Please consider how you can help… |
