The book fair ran smoothly and offered MGWS a great chance to do some shopping. Thank you to everyone who volunteered to make it a success.
Author ArchiveWe had a remarkable Veteran’s Day assembly today. The chorus did a beautiful job and brought a tear to many with their singing. We had veterans and those who are serving our country presently share experiences. Mrs. Adams read the poem, In Flanders Fields and spoke about the meaning and importance of this holiday. MGWS students raised $107.00 which they presented to the veterans. We heard fabulous essays from several fourth and fifth grade students. We finished the assembly with a solo on the piano by Ethan Martin. The veterans and their families went on to breakfast in the cafeteria. MGWS bid farewell to our veterans by lining the hall with thanks. The format of this blog may have caused some photos to be cut off. If you click on the photo you should be able to see its entirety. Jay Piscopo is the author and illustrator of The Undersea Adventures of Capt’n Eli all-ages graphic novel series. Jay has worked on many other projects including some animation. Jay shows how he creates his cartoon art and demonstrates how anyone can learn to draw and create comics. The kids and staff alike enjoy Jay’s presentation. In October the Life Skills classroom put on a Harvest Luncheon. The staff at MGWS enjoyed the most delicious fall meal. Thank you to the Life Skills staff and students. We had a bus evacuation lesson this morning. Everyone did a nice job going over this important information. A wonderful treat this morning at MGWS. We had our very own pianist play beautifully for us. Thank you Ethan! We have a wonderful school store, basketball in the gym and lots of visiting. A great way to begin our day.
The Ice Cream Social was lots of fun and yummy too! Walk to school was a bit chilly this morning. We even spotted a few snowflakes!!! The hot chocolate was yummy and warmed us right up. |
